I'm still confused as to what nix is actually supposed to fix. In my experience the only things it fixes are my abundance of free time that's not spent editing configuration files, and the dearth of issues on my bug tracker complaining things only work in a standard FHS env.

Chromium has created a new distributed build tool called siso to be a drop-in replacement for ninja. Or at least it's supposed to be. There's one ninja tool that I just can't live without, and I'm shocked they forgot it. Luckily, it can be patched in. gist.github.com/ADKaster/e3275…
