Here's a YouTube Short I made, trying to make the Inscribed Angle Theorem more engaging. If the base chord is a soccer goal, then the inscribed angle is how accurately the player needs to aim the ball. Comments & suggestions welcome! #iteachmath #MTBoS youtube.com/shorts/nMqHpWT…

I was looking for graphs in the news that might be useful for teaching, and I ran across this incredibly useful-looking collection from NYT Learning Network: "What's going on in this graph?" nytimes.com/column/whats-g… #iTeachMath #MTBoS

This large collection of backward-faded math examples is an absolute goldmine. Thanks to Dave Taylor! taylorda01.weebly.com/backward-faded… (Backward-faded math is when kids initially get given a fully worked-out problem. Then, similar questions follow, with gradually less scaffolding.)

These sheets are my non-negotiable in the first lesson! I've lost count of the number of times this sheet has given me key insights into pupils and helped me support other teachers with key students. Massive help for building valuable relationships with students.

It's more than a facelift: the new Desmos Geometry toolbar allows you to construct directly from a selected object, add labels, & move objects to the expression list. → Get all the details on this, & other new features & updates, on the 🎉What's New page: help.desmos.com/hc/en-us/artic…

Geometry is best enjoyed dynamically, and now the tokens in Desmos Geometry can be, too. #geometry #mathstudent #geometryart #tetris #vectors

While teaching & playing with the Inscribed Angle Theorem, stumbled across this rather cute fact, which was new to me. When you construct the inscribed triangle's incircle, its center (red dot) runs along the circle shown here. Anyone know what this is called? #MTBoS #iteachmath

There are a lot of angry ethologists out there today. If you encounter any in the wild, you can observe their behaviour but should use extreme caution

Maybe useful for a classroom activity today? Halloween witch hat transformations, in Desmos. The first set of transformations use the geometry tools, and the next set are functions of the x- and y-coords in the Graphing Calculator. #iteachmath #MTBoS teacher.desmos.com/activitybuilde…

Have you ever felt dissatisfied by the 2ab cos theta term in the Law of Cosines? Of course you have! Shouldn't it correspond to some visible shape, preferably an area built up using the side-lengths a and b? Here's a proof giving that. #iTeachMath youtube.com/watch?v=DGscPj…
