Big numbers need, well, big numbers 😜 There's no doubt that the Northumberland Line has been a great success so far & still 3 stations to welcome & even more happy customers

Heatwaves can buckle rail tracks, causing closures. HS2's tracks are designed to withstand higher temperatures than existing rail limits, keeping trains running smoothly in a hotter climate. ☀️🌦️🚄 #HS2 #ClimateResilience

My (unqualified) thoughts should Manors mainline be redeveloped in future for improved service & accessibility, and presumably increased line capacity too. Two straight (4-car) platforms beneath/south of Argle St, with long disability-compliant ramps up to the over-bridge. (1/2)

With delays to the new station at Northumberland Park, Manors remains the best interchange between local rail and Metro services north of Newcastle. But it really isn't up to scratch! What should be done to ensure Manors plays an important role in public transport on Tyneside?

I've got my tickets & looking forward to some father & son bonding as we wander around Heaton depot - might well be there talking all things Northumberland Line too

ℹ️#Morpeth - Overrunning engineering works between Newcastle and Morpeth means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised. ⚠️Disruption is expected until 10:30

This isn't light rail (there's no such thing, but also you'll notice: no rails). And these massive switching structures are among the weakest elements of this particular flavour of gadgetbahn: slow (these videos are sped up), extremely costly and a major point of failure.
