Back out in the field today counting Marsh Fritillary larval webs in Dorset with Caroline Bulman. Positive counts as web numbers seem comparable, if not improved, on last years (and 2019 was a good year on the damp grassland sites).
Wow, Dingy Skipper in the morning then a special delivery in the afternoon. Looking forward to reading this by Martin Warren.

I made the really difficult decision not to attend #EAB2021 this week. I was so looking forward to presenting some exciting results as part of my postdoc with Butterfly Conservation π¦. I'll be joining online though and hopefully sharing my work soon!

Before and after. Great to see results of winter management at a local Duke of Burgundy site as part of Hilfield Friary led cluster group project. Scalloped scrub edges, perching points, scattered scrub and shelter retained, but grassland opened up and connectivity improved.
