An update from the Bird Union: We have filed an NLRB complaint alleging that Audubon Society has broken federal labor law. They have downgraded healthcare benefits, pushing costs on the lowest-paid staff & violating our right to status quo conditions during bargaining. 🧵
Thank you Andres Jimenez. Audubon is leaking good talent, and Elizabeth Gray needs to be held accountable. diversegreen.org/green-2-0-urge…
While Audubon Society CEO Elizabeth Gray is at #COP28, management has informed us that they will be giving annual raises this year to everyone EXCEPT for Bird Union employees.
ICYMI: The The Bird Union 🪶 is striking in response to @AudubonSociety violating labor laws. Support the workers who protect birds by donating to their strike fund. Help offset the costs of basic needs while on strike. Donate here: gofundme.com/f/support-bird…
As of September 1st, Audubon Society has officially withheld more than one year’s worth of annual pay raises for members of the Bird Union. A conservative estimate for the total amount being pocketed is at least $840,000. This doesn’t count lost interest or 403(b) contributions.
.Audubon Society CEO Elizabeth Gray has refused to address any of the FOUR outstanding Unfair Labor Practices that the NLRB has officially charged Audubon with. It’s why we’re preparing to strike next week. Join us on the picket lines! RSVP here: actionnetwork.org/event_campaign…
NEWS: Audubon Society is challenging the constitutionality of labor law in response to the NLRB complaint that found management committed several Unfair Labor Practices. Audubon CEO Elizabeth Gray joins Elon Musk and others in this anti-union approach. cwa-union.org/news/releases/…
In other words, Audubon Society CEO Elizabeth Gray is using the very same SCOTUS ruling that could undermine environmental safeguards to argue that the NLRB doesn’t have authority to enforce labor laws. Audubon management is putting labor protections at risk for all of us.
We're SO READY. This gives me so much energy and joy to see how united we are. Elizabeth Gray it's not too late to eat crow and admit it's not a good look to argue the NLRB shouldn't exist at all rather than settling the ULPs!
