Marking today’s 70th Anniversary of the Korean War, I attended a ceremony held this morning at the Danbury War Memorial. Thank you to our local heroes lost and to our veterans.

Sending thanks to WCSU Interim President Paul Beran for shepherding the school through challenging times and wishing the best to SCSU’s Dr. Manohar Singh, hired by the state system as the next long-term WCSU Interim President.

DPS is among four dozen districts and summer camp programs in the state to be awarded a Summer Mental Health Supports Grant. Danbury will receive $135,000 (ARPA) to support delivery of mental health services for students, beginning this summer and through the summer of 2025.

To launch this school year with “Infinite Possibilities”, Education Commissioner Russell-Tucker hosted her Annual Back-to-School Meeting. I was glad to have made the drive to Berlin HS to attend with fellow legislators along with Danbury Supt. Walston and members of his Cabinet.

Governor Lamont has withdrawn proposed regulations to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 as questions arose about the plan. Thank you to everyone who took my survey about the proposal that would take effect in just 11 years. The majority responded ‘no’ to the plan.

A ceremony commemorating the 71st anniversary of the end of the Korean War was held this morning. The monument at the War Memorial lists the names of Danbury area military personnel killed during the war. Their average age is just 21.5 years old. We owe them a debt of gratitude🇺🇸
