As I’m rewatching the “Avatar: The Last Air Bender” series, I’m struck by its parallels with “Game of Thrones.” The Nickelodeon series was ahead of its time and easily dismissed as a “cartoon for kids” when it’s just as ambitious and, arguably, more successful than the HBO show.
