Grateful Dorothy Spencer is receiving recognition in this thoughtful piece, but still seeing the assumption that women were cutters bc it was like “quilt making.” BEFORE “the field was still dominated by men” editing was done by women and their work was always creative. The New York Times

I'm shocked to just now learn about Cari’s passing. I had the huge honor to share my Brotherton research with her a few years ago. She was lovely, supportive, and asked to read my dissertation. Her work is so important. She will be missed. cari beauchamp nytimes.com/2023/12/20/boo…

The fact that getting a film permit to shoot our one day short film would have cost over half our entire budget was the moment I realized Hollywood was in trouble.

Well, I'm out. Twitter was my favorite platform for 16 years, but I won't support it anymore. To the amazing academics I've met here and who supported my Brotherton research, you're the reason I stayed. I'd love to stay in touch, so find me on Substack: rachaelcamp.substack.com
