There has been a lot of discussion about who could step up to challenge Corey Heim for the Truck title. Layne Riggs has asserted himself as that challenger. Entered Richmond Raceway with five top 5s in the past eight races, and just moved to third with 65 to go.

Green flag pit stops have begun with less than 60 laps to go Richmond Raceway. Matt Crafton brings his No. 88 down for service, as he is also reporting brake issues. #eero250

First of the leaders to hit pit road is Heim, and that brings Honeycutt to pit road too. We'll see how this forces the hand of Majeski, who lost this race in 2023 because of green flag pit stop strategy. #eero250

TROUBLE! Race leader Ty Majeski went around after contact with Matt Crafton. This truly changes EVERYTHING in the midst of green flag stops. #eero250 #NASCAR

This could be similar to 2019 when Martin Truex Jr. got turned by Ricky Stenhouse Jr, yet still won the race. Majeski is still on the lead lap with the chance to pit for fresh tires, and only six cars on the lead lap before the wave around. #eero250

Interesting situation here: looks like the #eero250 will restart with just under 40 laps left. Majeski is out of sticker tires, so that could be another wrinkle should we get another yellow.

Majeski gets used up on the restart by both Ruggiero and Corey LaJoie. Ruggiero, who practically needs to win at this point, is up to second while Sammy Smith goes to the lead. Majeski faded to fourth, but seems to be rallying.

20 laps to go as Corey Heim goes by Sammy Smith for the lead! Ty Majeski and Layne Riggs have made this a four-truck battle. #eero250

.Richmond Raceway is expected to announce a sellout for tomorrow night's NASCAR Cup Series race, per people familiar, in what would be the first sellout at the venue since 2008. ➡️ The track did have a larger capacity back in 2008.

O'Reilly Auto Parts is the likely new entitlement sponsor for the Xfinity Series, sources tell The Athletic. The multi-year deal is likely to be announced next week. Xfinity to remain a premier partner. (Adam Stern first to report.)

Just under two hours before we go green here at Richmond Raceway for the #CookOut400! Will we see a new winner tonight, or will one of the favorites step up once again? Green flag is scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Have we really gotten to the point where a champion, first-ballot Hall-of-Famer has to defend what is realistic versus a take that is so out of touch with the sport? Fans don't root for the "No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team" as an example, those fans root for Chase Elliott.

There also was text chain of NASCAR executives and the Frances, after a meeting over a draft of charter agreement, where Steve O’Donnell characterized it as a “f— the teams” that would bring the sport back to Southern roots, tiny sport of 1996.
