The fight against Human Trafficking is real and in every city. We (Congregation Ahavath Sholom) are proud to be a partnering faith partner in this fight. For, "Once you see you can't unsee Once you know you can't unknow."

Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a Shabbat Shalom and a meaningful upcoming Pesach. May they, side by side, bring light, freedom, and renewal to us all.

Elie Wiesel—Holocaust survivor, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, and international voice of conscience—once said: “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.” We cannot afford indifference. Not now. Not ever! We must remember and act. #NeverAgain #HolocaustRemembranceDay

In times of hardship, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and uncertain. Yet Proverbs reminds us: “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.” (Proverbs 4:25-26) #Confidence #Faith #Religion

AI can process the words, but it doesn’t feel the moral weight behind them. It doesn’t understand the sanctity of the debate, or the reverence in a rabbi’s careful pause before giving an answer. It sees data—we see The Bible. See the link below. #AI a.co/d/2EZhsDR

I’m a proud veteran and longtime supporter of the IDF. Last night was incredibly meaningful for me, as I had the honor of chairing and organizing the Clergy Committee for the first Fort Worth Dinner of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF). #IDF #Israel #fortworthtx

“Opportunities multiply as they are seized.” (Sun Tzu, The Art of War) Sun Tzu reminds us that action is the seed of momentum. When we step forward with purpose, our decisions can unlock unforeseen paths. Success, growth, and blessing are not static gifts, they take effort.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882), the great American essayist, philosopher, and leader of the transcendentalist movement, wrote, “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.” In other words, he urged us to embrace intellectual and spiritual openness. #dailymeditation

After a turbulent week, let us welcome in the Shabbat, with the words of Shalom Aleichem: “Bo’achem l’shalom, malachei hashalom, malachei Elyon.” “Come in peace, angels of peace, angels of the Most High.” May the angels of God bring with them the peace that we all so desire.

“the use crutches of popularity amongst friends, society, social media for self-importance. People go to any extent to feed their ego, even if that means to show someone down, self-destruction or to kill someone.” (Shweta Basu Prasad) Sounds like the #LARiots to me! #LosÁngeles

“The Lord marches out like a warrior; He stirs up His rage like a man of war; He makes His anger heard; He shouts aloud; He declares His mastery over His enemies.” — Isaiah 42:13 Maybe God bring victory to Israel and destruction to the evil within Iran #israel #Iran #USA

“In moments of national crisis (for Israel) and war, there is no room for neutrality. One must choose—to stand with good or to enable evil. Sitting on the sidelines is itself a moral decision, and a dangerous one.” (Rabbi Goren) In other words, you must decide. #Israel #Iran

As Shabbat approaches, and with it the holiness it brings, let us remember the words attributed to Pablo Picasso: “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” In other words, true fulfillment and holiness are found when we help others.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time.” I would like to add to this: “The same God who rested on the seventh day also gave us the gift of Shabbat.” In this spirit, I wish everyone both a Happy 4th of July and a Shabbat Shalom.

Faith Builds Character. Faith binds us to God. Faith binds us as one. Faith makes us human. Faith is going beyond what the eyes can see. #Faith #God #Community

Today marks the passing in 1991 of Isaac Bashevis Singer. He wrote the short poem, The Old Baker. It reads: He baked bread like his father before him, But each loaf was a small prayer— Crust for the hungry, Steam for the soul. This simple show the power of transformation.
