Don’t let this trouble you. Shaytan himself was in Paradise, he saw the angels, witnessed Allah’s presence, and was fully aware of His punishment. He possessed knowledge and intelligence; in fact, we even learned Ayat al-Kursi from him. Yet despite all that, he was misguided.
