This wallop of a contradiction in Aurora PD's record procedures just gave me a chuckle. There's the theoretical "limit" of 24 weeks (!!!) to get a record, immediately followed by the qualifier of, you know, infinity.

Take a step back in time to the era of The Denver Post paperboys. Almost five decades later, I talked to three paperboys who tell all about biking through the city of Denver in the 1970s for their first jobs -- and the hijinks they got into along the way. denverpost.com/2022/12/23/den…

Ding, Ding, Ding. This little number hits 3 all-too-common and all-too-superfluous requests for information to obtain a public record: 1.) Driver's license number 2.) Social Security Number (??!!) 3.) Purpose of request. None of that is necessary to provide a public document.

A lil typo produced a fascinating feature of the Colorado Springs Police Department records page. Apparently, one can request items dating back to New Year's Day 1755, which is fascinating given that the city was founded in 1871. What lurks in the annals of this fine burg?

Around 11% of Coloradans express difficulty accessing food. In northwest Aurora advocates say that number is closer to 66%. The June closure of the Walmart at Havana and Colfax is expected to worsen food insecurity in the neighborhood, and so far there isn’t any indication…
