The overall winner of the previous taste testing was Desert Heat, which, later that night, was tried by someone who went into such flaming oral hell that he was willing to drink spoiled, curdled milk to try & assuage the burning. Patrick & I laughed. This mutha is fire!

People always ask me where to get hot sauces, so here are some sources. Kalustyan's (123 Lexington Ave) is an excellent store for all your spice needs. Via mail order I like peppers.com hotsauce.com & iburn.com

This is Erica, but you can call her Queen Majesty. She founded @QMhotsauce right here in #NYC to make flavorful, natural #HotSauce that can take your #baconeggandcheesesaltpepperketchup to the next level. Tomorrow, she talks balancing heat and flavor. bit.ly/2RKPrET

I went to the History of Spice in American Cuisine symposium tonight. While I enjoyed three of the guests & their comments/observations, the fourth guest, Sarah Lohman, dragged it down with her immediate & continuous attempts at pushing her personal political agenda. Shameful.

I'd like to thank Erica, owner of Queen Majesty Hot Sauces @QMhotsauce for the fun conversation we had. Great sauces from a fine lady.

I would like to thank the fellow who helped correct the little situation that occurred over the beer tokens. Sadly, I don't know his name, but he went above and beyond the call of duty to fix things. Thank you.

I had the pleasure of catching up with Jamal, owner of PSP Brooklyn hot sauces, at a street fair on Sunday. Jamal isn't just a super nice guy, but he also makes some incredible hot sauce. Check his products at pspbrooklyn.com

People think I am joking and/or crazy when I tell them about the health benefits of chilies. Here's yet another report on the topic. timesnownews.com/health/article…

We all know hot sauces are great with steak, but did you know some of the smokier ones actually taste like steak sauces, but without all the sugars? Three of my favorites: Race City Sauce Works Carolina Reserve, Horseshoe Chipotle Horseshoe Brand & Bravado Crimson Bravado Spice

Since I can't find any even half way decent songs about hot sauce, I will have to stick with Doro's Burn It Up, for now. Even if not specifically about hot sauce, it will have to do until someone comes up with something better. youtube.com/watch?v=KZqj4z…
