Thanks Desiree Harrison Desiree Y. Harrison Christina Tondevold for asking the Q what are your core values as a math coach? Equity has to be at the center of our work, "a living component inside all other[core values]"

Just finished watching a Number String video from @karalouiseimm @mathinthecity during Christina Tondevold Great example of equitable math practices. This is a must see! Plan to watch it as many times as I can - LOVE it!

Just watched Sue Looney - Educational Consultant on Christina Tondevold share ideas about samebutdifferentmath.com I so appreciated the deep dive into why it's a powerful tool and how to use it well! Thanks Sue!

As I prepare for this upcoming year, I'm thinking a lot about how to work and think with families. What will help them support their children in math most? Very thoughtful ideas from mathwithmeaning.wordpress.com/2019/07/ where Tamara DeFord shares an informative handout. Thanks for sharing!

Great VMC PLC last night! youtube.com/watch?v=LZe5y2β¦ We discussed our "why" for the work we do. So many interesting "whys" ex: disrupting ideas about putting students in a hierarchical framework - "interrogating inequities" and more! @martagarcia0901 Mike Flynn

I've been thinking about some of Shelley Moore's dots Dr. Shelley Moore, PhD and how they help us think about how to best support variability in math class. What do we still need learn so every student feels like their ideas have value?

I'm listening to Graham Fletcher talking about Mathematical Residue ... love "don't teach rules that get in the way of student intuition."!

Inspiring ideas about subtraction with #mtholyokemath #cohort8 @martagarcia0901 Virginia Bastable Reasoning, making generalizations and creating models. What a day!

Thinking a lot about discretionary spaces and the work we educators need to do to provide safe places for Ss. The decisions we make have a huge impact on students' lives. Great discussions with @cohort8 @martagarcia0901 Virginia Bastable @mountholyokemath

What a great night with our Virtual Math Coaches LN discussing Humanizing Mathematics! We've used Francis Su's quote to guide our work. Love him. Love our participants. You are thoughtful and wise. @martagarcia0901 Math Leadership

I am becoming obsessed with these pictures of crayons. We will be doing crayon math this week or next. #numbertalkimages Pierre Tranchemontagne
