Some shifts absolutely break you and the worst part is having to come back a day or two later and carry on as normal when you've not even had enough rest, let alone process everything💔

Big thank you to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust ED and physiotherapists for the amazing care given to my Auntie Joan. She couldn't stop singing your praises and is now back home with my uncle comparing their falls injuries 😅🫣

The nurses strike isn’t just about pay, of course we should pay nurses fairly It’s about being valued for the work they do, it’s about safe levels of staffing, it’s about improving working conditions, it’s to prevent more nurses leaving It’s about patient safety

Sincere thread for people who aren’t sure about why nurses are striking: Nursing is one of the lowest paid graduate jobs in the country. A newly qualified nurse will go in at £27k a year but with significant debt, having worked for free for three years prior to qualifying. 1/

Immensely proud of the nurses for rejecting the 5% pay offer and bribe of a couple of grand. It’s well below inflation and was set to pay them off in the short term whilst undervaluing in the long. There’s been years of this and workers have had enough. Well done ✊

Nurses have been warned they won't get an improved pay offer after they voted to reject the government’s revised deal. Downing Street has also ruled out reopening pay talks. What do you think about this? #FairPayforNursing #NursesStrike rcni.com/nursing-standa…

You couldn't make this up First the government try to kill us with incorrect PPE Then they clap us as heroes But they won't give us fair pay But they will give us the George Cross And now they want to take us to court or strike us off for fighting back Thanks Tories

3 years today I qualified. One of the hardest but most rewarding journeys of my life. Very lucky to have spent it with @AMU_Tavy 💗
