According to organizers, more than 200 000 people attended the Budapest Pride March, despite a legal ban and threats from the government. The Hungarian government is already blaming Brussels for commanding the Hungarian opposition to stage the event. Photo: HVG

Hungary banned the country’s annual pride parade. Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Friday warned people to stay away from the banned parade, threatening “clear legal consequences” for anyone taking part. The community showed up, and Budapest had its largest pride ever.

Many people wondered, who is this old gentleman who walked along the march with his stick yesterday. He's the 86 y. old Ferenc Kőszeg, who attended on protest even in the darkest times of Hungary's history. Protested against the russians, communist regime, and now against Orban.
