When rail is good, it's good. On Thameslink from north of London to Orpington with a simple change at London Bridge and thankfully both on air conditioned trains and easily able to get seats. So much less stressful than driving and the Underground. Final leg is the 208..

And relax... Arrived at Heathrow via the excellent RailAir service. I know I've said before this is a really good service that deserves support. Journey didn't get off to the best start as 1st train was cancelled, 🚕 to the rescue. Hope that isn't a bad oman...

Can't keep the buses away, very remote boarding (actually went through quite a long tunnel) on our flight to Billund for the start of our adventure. The bus driver pointed out our place on the apron was in between Terminal 3 and 5, was surprised to see some wide body's here too

Pretty impressed with the offer from #Billund Airport. In the arrivals hall a ticket machine with a notice informing you which fare to buy. A screen telling you which stop and the info on board the bus is probably the best I've seen giving you all interchange options #sydtrafik

Second day on #Sydtrafik buses here in Jutland. Pretty good network I think, not the most frequent but it's pretty rural around here. Good info at stops as well as on board the buses. Only thing I am surprised with, is that these interurban buses don't have wheelchair spaces

When certain people tell you trains are amazing in Europe, don't always believe what you read. This DSB from Kolding to Hamburg is packed as expected. But was happy as we had reserved seats. Train arrived in reverse formation and a coach missing. Our table of 4 now gone!

Last few days in #hamburg. Another great German city, not been to a bad one yet. Transport provided by HOCHBAHN & #hvv. They have an app which gives you tickets at a discount. There are lots of S & U Bahns as well as extensive bus and ferry network. Usual great onboard info

Onboard the Deutsche Bahn Personenverkehr ICE to Vienna. Nearly 10 hours on this but have just been fed from the 🐘 @[email protected] which is excellent value with the meal deals they offer (even if I'm not a fan of their microwaved chips). I do think these are up there with the best Intercity train around

Transport in Vienna is still as good as I remember it. Frequent routes across the city. Wish there were some better ticket options like group tickets but at least Wiener Linien provide free travel for kids in the holidays

A lot of the stations on the Wiener Linien U Bahn are pretty special and so clean (as I've been noticing all this trip). You also have these classic bus stop flags, miniature versions of which appear on the Citymapper app.

Next leg, the ÖBB EN1153 with Slovak coaches to Split. We have a 6 man couchette (4 travelling). No air con in our coach which is a bit disappointing but we do have opening windows with good ventilation. As you can see snacks available, but no water in our coach toilets

Some great views on the Euro Night. Air con would have been nice but it was great fun hanging out of the window. Fairly basic breakfast but ok. Arrived nearly 2 hours late which is standard according to the guard, he has never arrived on time into Split!

First leg home after a relaxing few days on the island of Brac and it's a familiar start with the bus (company) to the port.

Last European train this trip on #hzpp, a local journey from Split to the airport via Kastel Stari and then 🚕. The loco pictured was similar to what our overnight was hauled by (on the Croatian leg). All aboard the British Airways Embraer back to London

Happy #WindowWedneday from the Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership Atlantic Coast Line. This signal box and line will be upgraded quite a bit over the next few years in relation to the #MidCornwallMetro project. Hopefully the Newquay Line will have a much more attractive service. Every Last Station

Trying out the new Arriva Milton Keynes X1 to Luton this morning. So strange being on a coach for what is only an hour or so in journey time. Nice coaches but they are missing USB charging and no next stop info despite there being a screen. Very similar to the old Centrebus X31 route

Impressed with the new(ish) entrance to Luton Airport Parkway. Very spacious, good facilities with a coffee shop coming soon as well. Imagine this is why the fares for Luton Rising Dart are so high. It was very busy though. Can't imagine the old entrance is used that much now

Didn't all go to plan (due to a lot of late running) but had a nice afternoon in the end on the London Bus Museum Route 61/261 Running Day. Loved the retro posters onboard the RM, new Victoria Line and a Green Line route all the way from Luton to Crawley! #classicbus
