People: “Metal and rock shows are violent and satanic.” Also metal shows: fans literally stop the pit to help you up. Astroworld: the crowd were ignored by the “leader”while being trampled to death 💀

Metal/alt/rock fans use the energy to discharge emotion together; thus it’s catharsis, not chaos. These environments provide emotional regulation through release. That collective intent keeps the environment safer than the surface consensus has suggested.

How this differs? Community. In metal/rock/alt, you’re part of a “tribe” There’s an unspoken respect between performer & crowd even when the music’s aggressive it’s contained “aggression” through musical ritual, not mindless & aimless chaos.

That's not to say First Temple by Closure in Moscow isn't unique in its own right. I think I've postulated The Mars Volta (Bedlam in Goliath especially) as such a unique sound that no other band can match that sound, and this artist is the first that could come close. #music
