What an incredible week at DES! Grade 4 Burgess writing lists of 20 things we should say to each other. Examples include: ”We can do this thing!” ”I like your face! I’m so glad to see you!” ”What’s up?”

There some major work occurring on our playground. Are they building piles to jump in? Nope! They are farming! In an exclusive interview, they explained the very systematic process of baling the leaves & their plans to cover and store the bales for winter. #DESlearnseverywhere

Making good use of all that snow with our skiis!

Gr. 5/6 students demonstrated careful planning, problem solving, collaboration, & perseverance constructing snow sculptures. They are proud of their finished results including “Covid”, a “Dragon with an Inverted Ice Cream Cone”, and an “Avocado.”

The grade 5/6’s used their mathematical thinking to design this ice wall which we named “Love and Light” because of the light shining through the heart.

Monday, October 18th is PSSD Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Sincere thanks and appreciation to each of our dedicated bus drivers!

Thanks to a generous DES family, beginning Monday- students can bring a non-perishable food item to enter a “guess the pumpkin’s weight contest”. Donations go to the food bank, winner gets the pumpkin!
