We are very sad to hear via ArchaeologyUK that Professor Lord Colin Renfrew has passed. This was one of the first books on archaeology we ever read. He has shaped generations of archaeologists from the start of their careers and throughout, and will continue to do so.

Huge thanks to @AjayTegala and Francis Pryor for giving us a wonderful evening, in conversation in Oundle, on Friday night. They had great rapport and gave the audience insightful and interesting information about conservation and the history of the Fens.

Enforced bed rest means a chance to finally listen to Francis Pryor reading his own book, The Fens - highly recommended.

These tiny armoured catfish, called Otocinclus macrospilus (macro = large, spilus = spot, referring to the big spot on their tails), tend to live in schools of hundreds or thousands of fishes. Nathan K. Lujan (Associate Curator of Fishes) shows us these specimens!
