Today, Safe Storage and Lost and Stolen Reporting Requirement bills were passed out of Senate Judiciary & Public Safety Committee! This is a huge step towards their eventual passage and implementation here in Minnesota.

I will be part of Protect Minnesota Advocacy Fund's Day of Action on March 5 to call for legislative action on gun violence prevention in Minnesota.

Safer States initiative group Protect Minnesota continues to advocate for safe storage policies: “We know that when we're losing almost 600 people here in our state to gun violence, we haven't yet done enough to curb this epidemic,' said Maggiy Emery.

Gov. Tim Walz and law enforcement touting Minnesota as the 20th state with a “red flag” gun law officially known as “extreme risk protection orders.” An ERPO may be issued by a judge if a gun owner poses a significant danger of bodily harm to others or him or herself.
