1/Excited to share the news that my book, Pandemic of Punishment, will be published by Beacon Press. It tells stories of the people living and dying in American jails and prisons during the COVID-19 crisis.
3/The book will amplify their voices, pushing forward the emerging social movement to end mass incarceration. I am grateful to every person who has shared their story with me, and to my colleagues UCLA Law Behind Bars Data Project, who have taught me so much.
4/For others who may want to share their stories or experiences with me, please get in touch via my website at amandaklonsky.net. Thanks to my editor, Rachel Marks at Beacon Press, and my agent, Charlotte Sheedy Charlotte Sheedy Lit, for believing in this project.

Heartbroken. 💔#immunocompromised are not invisible. Why did President Donald J. Trump say no one is wearing masks anymore? The pandemic is not over for us. We aren’t expendable.
Emma Green For once just say it in plain language. You'll feel so much better. Your convenience is worth more to you than the lives of strangers. Full stop. You don't care if you have a new hair dresser every month because the last one died of an easily preventable illness. Just be honest.
