A few days ago Union County Superintendent Andrew G. Houlihan agreed to meet with local educators to hear their questions and concerns around school reopening. Educators wanted to meet virtually for safety, but at his insistence they agreed to a face to face meeting. #nced

He didn’t show up. Tomorrow Union County educators are holding a Drive to Stay Alive to call for Plan C until it’s safer and to ask their superintendent *again* to meet with them. That’s what a good leader would do in a time of crisis. #nced bit.ly/drivetostayali…

I want people to know that our educators are working this weekend to prepare for school because the North Carolina General Assembly arbitrarily chose August 17th as a start date. Our students will have an amazing first day. The NCGA "Leadership" should have done better for them.
