Really thrilled to have the opportunity to help lead Edinburgh Neuroscience alongside the fantastic Malcolm Macleod #FBPE and looking forward to getting stuck in 👍
(and yes, it's awesome to be the first woman in the role!)
🥁🤩 Please retweet. Super happy to announce the Inserm workshop 'METHODS IN META-RESEARCH: HOW TO IMPROVE RESEARCH PRACTICE' organised by Isabelle BOUTRON, me, and Philippe Ravaud with a stellar team of speakers: J Ioannidis, Malcolm Macleod #FBPE Ulrich Dirnagl (@[email protected]) Carl Moons, Roland Roberts...
I was recently invited to a meeting on how to address publication bias. I can’t attend (my sisters wedding 🥰) but that’s ok because they can follow this series of events as an example of the problem and of effective handling. Proud of PCI Registered Reports (@[email protected])
Come join us Edinburgh Neuroscience! The Wellcome-funded #PhD in Translational #Neuroscience is recruiting for its final🥲 cohort.
Generous funding! lots of flexibility in designing your project! exceptionally supportive programme! 11/10

A big thanks to Inge Stegeman and Tony Ross-Hellauer for facilitating such an open and collaborative culture. iRISE, TIER2 and OSIRIS have spent the day discussing synergies, identifying opportunities and getting to know each other! Exciting #reproducibility work to come!

Our preprint describing AD SOLES - a systematic online living evidence summary of animal research in #AlzheimersDisease - is now up at 10.31222/osf.io/s5gf9, with Kaitlyn Hair, Emily Sena, Emma Wilson and Olenka Maksym - all feedback welcome 🙏
🔬 5% of TIA/stroke RCTs at high risk of selective outcome reporting bias (cf. 14% in all RCTs), but 17% at risk of 'spin bias' (upgrading/downgrading).
There's no room for complacency!

Very privileged to have our #ALS work University of Aberdeen showcased Scottish Parliament today for British Neuroscience Association #NeuroscienceMatters , as 1/4 case studies of exemplary #neuroscience research in Scotland alongside Chris Henstridge, Emily Sena, @CAMRADES! Many thanks to MND Scotland for support 🙏
Wow…..I’m at the Playfair Library for Dr. Debora Kayembe 🏴’s The University of Edinburgh rectorial installation and it’s great to see the African representation. So much colour 🧡
And Kaitlyn Hair is up talking about her fantastic work on Systematic Online Evidence Summaries (SOLES).
The better half of the #Metascience2023 CAMARADES sandwich.
So, even after almost a year off, “top tier journals” is a variable we’re still on?! - as a marker of study quality #Metascience2023
