Some early signs of stress on corn from the wind, rain and variable temperatures. Need some big days of sunshine to get things back up and going. 🌞#ProInTheField

Within the next week or so we will be approaching V5 corn. This is a critical point for corn because this is where the plant begins to determine the rounds on an ear. How are you preparing to feed your plant during this growth stage? extension.entm.purdue.edu/newsletters/pe…

Instead, crops must first convert nitrogen into amino acids and then into proteins — a process that takes time, energy, and the right enzymatic conditions.

Making educated decisions based off data is critical with high inputs and low commodities. Now is the time to begin to build that story to make those tough decisions for next growing season. Football is now a game of analytics and why can't farming become the same. Start now!!

🪲Brown County Fair week means it is time to look for Corn Rootworm damage. Although pressure feels much lower than last year, don't sleep on these little bugs. Here is a root wash done North of Aberdeen today. Wash roots for larvae and check silks for beetles. #ProInTheField🪲

❗️ALERT❗️ Just when we think there has been enough thrown our way with low commodities, high fertilizer & higher CRW pressure, Tar Spot rears her ugly head. Pics were takin in northern Brown County. Looks like fungicide might be another added input coming in '26. #ProInTheField

Getting questions this winter around WEOC. What is WEOC? Why does it matter? How do I test for it? Here's a short informative thread I ran on ChatGPT to help tell the story: Introduction to WEOC chatgpt.com/share/6973f031… Hope you enjoy!

🌽More Corn Moving Today🌽 Time to begin crop planning if you haven’t already! Hybrid placement is IMPORTANT as well as understanding a hybrid’s ability to flex. Make the proper adjustments to your seed populations when making variable rate seed scripts and capitalize on yield!

*Manage the metrics you can change: WEOC & HT3* Here is a 2-year case study near Doland, SD. How did we do that? Reducing our N application rates, timing fertilizer applications, applying residue managing microbes, & carbon sources. Let your soil work for you! Jaren Schley

No one receives medical advice before a physical check-up, blood work, X-Ray or other examinations. Why should our soil be any different? Soil sampling to take educated decisions is critical especially with high input costs going into the 2026 season. Soil Sample Your Fields!
