When the IPAP is triggered by the pxs inhalation, the breath generated is spontaneous triggered breath (BiPAP-S). If it is triggered by the ventilator, it is timed triggered breath (BiPAP-T). If triggered by either px or time, it is Spontaneous Timed (BiPAP-ST).
