I became Principal Ahoskie Elementary School in 2019. Last year we didn’t perform as we wanted with student proficiency on the EOGs but we MET growth for the first time since 2016. Every subgroup MET growth. Our Math team was the only team in our district to Exceed growth on the Math EOG🎉🎉

Yesterday, we celebrated our Custodians for the phenomenal job they do everyday Ahoskie Elementary School to make sure our building is clean and safe for our Scholars and Staff.

Elementary students should not be taking standardized tests because testing becomes the focus of education instead of learning. We take away their creative genius and excitement of learning, playing, & creating. We develop test takers instead of problem solvers and innovators.

We had Book Character Day Ahoskie Elementary School. I chose to dress as the red crayon from the book, “The Day the Crayons Quit.” My son Ethan chose to dress as Dog Man from the Dog Man Series of Books.

I’m so proud of my team Ahoskie Elementary School we moved up a letter grade from 36 (F) to 52 (D) and met growth expectations (score: 83) on the NC State Report Card! We managed to make double digit gains in student proficiency in every subject area. Met in Reading Exceeded in Math
