I enjoyed the opportunity to visit UVA Wise with our Board of Visitors members, and to honor Don Pippin at the dedication of Don R. Pippin & John C. Wyllie Hall, now an incredible nursing education facility.  Thanks to everyone at UVA Wise for the warm welcome.

Tomorrow (4/11) from 12-4PM, we’ll be hosting our next Student Open House at Carr’s Hill. All students are welcome to drop by Carr’s Hill to visit, study, have a snack, and spend some time with our pets.

I was delighted to welcome some amazing storytellers to Carr’s Hill last night as part of our second annual Story Collider event, highlighting STEM at UVA.  Thanks to the Story Collider team, Prof. Ken Ono, and all of our storytellers for an inspiring evening.

Are you ready for tomorrow’s solar eclipse? I’ll be on the Lawn with my eclipse glasses ready to go.  Please join me, the Astronomy Club, and Student Council for an eclipse watch party from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.  All are welcome, and we’ll have glasses for the first 1,500 attendees.

Springtime around Grounds is incredibly beautiful. Over the weekend, submit a new spring photo of Grounds, tagging Jim Ryan, and I’ll pick a few winners that will receive UVA gear. We’ll announce the winners later next week.

Thanks to everyone who came out for today’s #RunWithJim .  I loved having students from Habitat for Humanity at UVA there to talk about their important work in our community.  It was a great run, and a great cause!

UVA professor Catherine Bradshaw has been elected to the National Academy of Education. This is one of the highest honors that a researcher in the field of education can attain. Congrats to Catherine. We’re fortunate to have her at UVA.
