It’s so hard to take care of ourselves during the school year because so much weighs on our shoulders—and perhaps we treat teachers who DO take better care of themselves in ways that seem like they aren’t working hard enough. #HCESCedchat

A1. I did NOT take care of myself this past school year. I need to workout —yoga is my favorite—almost every day this year! #HCESCedchat

A2 What I meant from the first post is that we need to encourage our teacher-friends to take care of themselves and tell each other that it’s okay—it’s good—it’s necessary! I need to eliminate the stress in between! The unnecessary worry takes a LOT of energy!!!! #HCESCedchat

A3. I started to practice meditation this summer—and it’s weird—BUT— I have found that in practicing (making grocery lists, thinking about my back-to-school nightmares, etc) it’s there when I actually NEED it. #HCESCedchat

A4. As a younger teacher, risks were harder. I find it easier now to say to a freshmen or sophomore group, “I’ve never done this lesson before..or I’ve never tried this before... “. They cheer us on and support us better than we can imagine! #HCESCedchat
