80 years ago on 22 & 23 May 1943 Sunderland suffered WW2's last & worst bombing raid The shipyards were the target but many civilian areas were hit A 1000kg bomb just missed Sunderland Empire Dun Cow Sunderland & The Fire Station destroying a warehouse & that is where the Auditorium is built
