Very interesting research by Ester Hedberg and Stefan Johansson. Strugling readers tell us what makes texts more understandable. We witness their struggle through eye-tracking. #plain2019

Great final speech by Neil James at #plain2019 ‘The future for plain language practitioners in this age of information overload: We can help people to take a drink from a fire hydrant.’

Read on my calendar that Einstein said that if you could not explain something to a six year old, you did not understand it yourself. Good inspiration for the IAASB LCE project and for standard setting in general ( including my own at Koninklijke NBA) Accountancy Europe Kai Morten Hagen

Academia: academic writing is dry and full of jargon. This needs to change *writes in a directed and relatively jargon free manner* Academia: sorry, your writing doesn't follow proper format and reads more like an essay than a paper. Go back and rewrite.
