We're Going on a Planet Hunt! My son and I riffed on We're Going on a Bear Hunt as the intro for my latest episode of Physics Alive. But now he wants to know what a black hole is. Fun conversations with a 4-year-old! physicsalive.com/wp-content/upl…

Happy August 1st! I’m a Panther now! Faculty ID at Plymouth State = received. Next, it’s time to setup the new office: a space for coffee, office hours, class prep, podcasting, and more coffee.

Bought more happy/sad ball sets from Arbor Scientific so my students could do this classic experiment instead of watching me do it. I used the old 2D collision ramps made from bent rulers and scrap wood from the shop. Students predicted first, then tried it, then we talked about why.

Ok #iteachphysics pholks. I’m going through old equipment and found this. Lopsided glass goalposts? Anyone know what this might be used for? There’s a second smaller one as well.
