Providence softball will open the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs Thursday at home against the winner of a wild card game between Ocean View of Huntington Beach and Santa Clara of Oxnard.

Providence High juniors Aubrey Eaton and Natalie Gonzalez have qualified for the CIF Division 4 finals in both the girls 1,600 and 3,200.

Providence junior Henry Virtue and senior Dillon Yell have qualified for CIF Finals in the Division 4 boys 800. Yell has also qualified in the 3,200.

Providence girls track scores again in the 3,200 in CIF Finals. Aubrey Eaton takes second in 11:27.95. Natalie Gonzalez finishes sixth in 11:32.79. This produces 11 more points for the team standings.

Henry Virtue of Providence finishes third in the Division 4 boys 800 in 1:59.32. Teammate Dillon Yell took seventh in 2:00.57.

Dillon Yell of Providence finishes eighth in the Division 4 final of the 3200 in 9:58.78.

Certainly a great effort by both. And of course the best thing is that they can come back and do it again next year.

Aubrey Eaton ‘25 writes Providence Athletics history at the @cifss Track Finals. She wins the 1st ever individual CIF Championship and the 1st Girls CIF Championship for the school by taking the 1600M title. She also earns a Runner-Up in the 3200M. Congratulations Aubrey!!! 🎉
