While responding to a fire earlier today in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, IAFF members were ambushed in a heinous act of violence. Two of our brothers were killed by a sniper, and a third brother remains in surgery. Please keep them, their families, and law enforcement in your prayers.

Four-person crews ensure fires are extinguished faster and occupants are rescued more quickly during emergencies. This is the nationally recognized minimum staffing standard for a reason - it keeps the public and FFs safe. It’s what Fall River - and all communities - deserve.

Video surveillance has confirmed there was only one shooter and they are currently being detained. The scene is still an active investigation but there is no further danger to the public.
