The Eagles are assured of a fifth straight winning season for the fourth time in franchise history. 1943-49, 1988-92, 2000-04

Weird random fact: Dating back to Buddy Ryan, the Eagles have had at least one shutout victory under every full time head coach except Andy Reid Buddy Ryan: 3 shutouts Rich Kotite: 2 shutouts Ray Rhodes, Chip Kelly, Doug Pederson, Nick Sirianni: 1 shutout

I don’t often share personal stuff on here, but my daughter got her Master’s degree today. You can now add Hofstra University midyear commencement for places “Go Birds” has been said

One of my favorite Eagles games of all time. “That is the most points the Eagles have ever scored in a playoff game…and they’ve done it in the first half! Eagles 38, Lions 7”-Merrill Reese Stan Walters joining in on the Lomas chants was classic too

It was so much easier to be a fan when he played and the Eagles went 10-6 before completely shitting bed when it mattered every year. But hey, you’ll always have the Body Bag game against a team that smoked you in the playoffs two months later and bullying a 1-15 Cowboys squad

Merrill had a couple great calls that day: “Charlie Garner, where has he been all our lives?” “This place is NAUSEOUS! The Eagles are humiliating the 49ers at The ‘Stick!”

Of course as it turned out, the 49ers didn’t lose another meaningful game that season (their only loss after that was Week 17 when they rested their starters after clinching homefield) and the Eagles would finish 7-9 after starting 7-2. But that day was glorious
