On this day in1971， UK adopted decimal currency system, so the low value on stamps changed from "d" to "P".

I have always loved Canadian stamps. This has a lovely clean and simple design and is all the more powerful as a result

There was a plan for a joint issue. The final approved design had portraits of the king and the French president but then France was invaded and that was the end of the joint stamps
