Spent the morning with Drs Vickruck & Galpern at UofC, getting updates on the biodiversity survey and Ecological Services project funded by Canola Growers. We now have the largest collection of beneficial insects on the Prairie, and a wildly powerful dataset!

There’s lots of buzz around DUC podcast Ep.16! That’s because we talk to U Calgary landscape ecologist Paul Galpern about pollinators like wild bees and why wetlands are important for their future in areas with abundant croplands. ducks.ca/podcast #DUCPod #bees #pollinators

Paul Galpern Nicely done, Paul! We have beautiful male varipuncta carpenter bees here in the Bay Area - they are fuzzy golden with big green eyes. They are quite big (an inch!) and don't have stingers!

MORE beneficial insects and ecosystem services today, at UofC with Paul Galpern and Sam Robinson, Ph.D. Super exciting to be in the room housing one of the largest collections of native bees in Canada! #canola #beneficialinsects

I cannot express how dismayed I am. How can I wean myself off of Google products. Their financial support of climate denial is unacceptable. Is Apple better? theguardian.com/environment/20…

New paper, hot off the press from my lab group! TL:DR -> Landscape complexity was positively associated with crop yields, and farmers may receive a small crop productivity benefit from enhancing landscape complexity. Nice work Paul Galpern, @jessvickruck! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Taught to two space on an electric typewriter. (This, from the winner of the 1993 Northern Secondary School typing prize). Have never changed. And now, harrumph! I most certainly won't. x.com/JustinWolfers/…
