No pls. Young architects don’t need more training. They don’t need any form of mentorship. Why are architects living in denial? Why? Aren’t they human beings as well? Can’t you see how unhappy and trapped our young graduates are?! #IsYouBlind?

With #COP27 now in the rearview mirror, every milestone on the road ahead matters. Our Executive Secretary Simon Stiell urges countries to keep their eye on 2030 – by then, the world needs to have cut global greenhouse gas emissions by 45% in order to limit warming to 1.5°C.

So it looks like after defunding the Office of the Victorian Government Architect in the budget, the Andrews Government have also pushed them out of Department of Premier and Cabinet and into the department of transport and planning.

I'm sooo fed up being introduced as 'provocative' when I give lectures on architecture & climate. I tell you what is provocative: just talking about form/style/technique when the world is burning.

This was a lot of fun. For me, anyway! Thanks Reden Recio for the shot, and for everyone that came along/tuned in and has helped along the way!

Incase you are still under the impression you live in a free country, worth following the progress of the Insulate Britain protestors in court. They've been gagged from talking about the thing that they are protesting to highlight. insulatebritain.com/2023/03/31/bre…

Yes—had an appalling experience today, neurodiverse student criticised for one window being poorly orientated. No discussion of their design method or actual ideas. This mode of criticism, often learnt at the elite schools, trashes the idea of a diverse and equitable profession.

Worth remembering what Goldsmith said about climate protests: "disruptive protest groups such as Extinction Rebellion are absolutely right and the pressure they exert does work. There is a real anxiety that we are heading towards a cliff and we’re not doing enough."

Not to be alarmist but…this is what’s called a six-sigma event, now unfolding in Antarctica. Otherwise known as a once-in-7.5-million-year event. Hang onto your hats. HT Prof. Eliot Jacobson

Architecture practices sticking in 6% fees on £100k refurb projects (all riba stages) is part of the reason we have an existential earnings crisis in the architecture profession.
