The abandoned Kamaʻoa Wind Farm at South Point in Hawaii was built in 1987 & decommissioned in 2006. Rust, decay & stains are visible. It was replaced in 2007 by the larger Pakini Nui Wind Project, with 14 GE gas-driven 1.5 MW turbines. The US has a backlog of 86,000 wind
