As a complex trauma survivor in active recovery, experiencing single event trauma has really felt...familiar-but oh so different. The processing and experiencing of event trauma feels like it's going at Formula 1 speed. School admin hardly allows for slowing down.

Trauma survivor & IFS client tip: Dear Downplayer, I see you. I feel you explaining away the intensity of emotion. You don't want me to worry. But I CAN feel. I CAN cope. I'm here too. And feeling, actually helps me to release discomfort. 💫Let's do this together. #IFS #trauma

If you have wounds to heal, I'm sorry your hurting. Truly, I am. It feels so lonely, so heavy, and so endless at times. But if you're FEELING that, or you're aware of that, you are on the right path and you are not alone. ❤️‍🩹💫

Is it possible for a complex trauma survivor to gain some sort of 'benefit' from experiencing a traumatic event? In processing a traumatic event at work, so much is deeply familiar. I am responding in a more coordinated & clear way. I wonder Aim True (Amy Pagett) Amy | Wellness Alchemist Dr. Bob Beare

It was never your responsibility as a child to ask for help. It wasn’t your responsibility to explain what was happening or know who you were supposed to tell. People would rather blame you than sit with the injustice of what you endured. You were a kid. It wasn’t your fault.

Something is not less bad if it happened to you, than if it happened to someone else. YOU deserve the same compassion & support that you'd extend to someone you love if the exact same thing that happened to you, happened to them.

In real life: 1. recovery is nonlinear 2. progress reverses 3. plans fail Survivors aren’t those whose plans work they’re those who keep redesigning the plan.

Currently seeking employment in the MH/Recovery space. I think what is most important to me as someone w lived experience & trad training, is that I keep an open mind when it comes to recovery approaches/theories etc. Otherwise, I'm not being of service, I'm being self-serving.

Finding internal safety is always available in nature. Away from: the noise of the world, the influence of others' thoughts & actions. Just peace, that comes with the presence of what is here. A place where there's no need to anticipate or reevaluate. Just being here. ⏳
