Everything is happening. While climate scientists have been talking about North Atlantic sea surface temperatures these last few days, what's going on with sea ice in Antarctica is even more extreme, nearly 2.4 million km² below the 1991-2020 mean, with a big jump down today.

Today we had our PSECO-lab ‘away’ day! We talked about our research and about our role and responsibilities as scientists. The afternoon was for weeding, silly photos, and drinks and nibbles at our outdoor mesocosms 😊

CLIMATE CRISIS: Here is where we stand now after all of these historic milestones. What do you think? (note: CO2 on X axis, years on Y axis, and global temps as colors)

This; - only this, is the real issue, - including all the hype around brexit and the EU at the moment. EVERY other ‘consideration’ is a low-level distraction. It’s longer-term and a bigger killer and more disastrous than anything else in human history. x.com/HawiiC/status/…

Were looking for a particular variety of lime tree to buy; there’s one growing near us and we want one the same! It grows to 20m+, aphid resistant, has a silvery underside to the leaves and a very slight ‘weeping’ demeanour. Anyone good at tree varieties? Many thanks. #trees

Public support for wind turbines has just reached an all-time high at 74%, while support for fracking (now at 13%) is at an all-time low. But the government’s totally out of step. Fracking vs. onshore wind: the system just isn't fair. 1010uk.org/articles/frack…
