Teams from around The Royal Parks today met in Richmond Park to take part in a volunteering session in Pembroke Lodge Gardens. Staff planted a mixed native hedgerow as part of a #HelpNatureThrive project and plugs in the garden to help with the woodland regeneration here 🌳

⚠️ Please note that due to anticipated wind gusts of over 40 mph today, the Isabella Plantation and Pembroke Lodge Gardens are currently closed to the public. Pembroke Lodge café will remain open. The Woodland Gardens in Bushy Park will remain closed for the remainder of today.

We have identified several skylark breeding zones in both Richmond and Bushy Parks. Skylarks build their nests on the ground and are vulnerable to disturbance. In these areas we ask that dogs be kept on short leads during the breeding season, which runs from March to September.

Please be aware of a heavy presence of emergency vehicles at the top of Broomfield Hill in #RichmondPark due to a medical emergency. Cyclists please dismount and walk around the vehicles, thank you.

During deer birthing season, female deer will often give birth away from the herd 🦌 We politely request all visitors to Bushy and Richmond Parks give female deer respect, privacy and space during this vulnerable time. Find out more ▶️ bit.ly/3orOC5k. #KeepWildifeWild

There is new stock at the Visitor Centre: new FRP Greeting Cards & postcards with photos donated by local photographers. Also new: Richmond Park tea towel (£7) & mug (£6).  The Visitor Centre at Pembroke Lodge is open 10am to 4pm every day (subject to volunteer availability).
