Research scholars from Scheduled Tribe communities across the country have reported months-long delays and irregularities in the disbursement of funds under the National Fellowship for Scheduled Tribes (NFST), a scholarship programme administered by the Union Ministry of Tribal

Last month, I wrote to the Secretary of the Union Ministry of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India highlighting the alarming issue of severe under-allocation and delays in the disbursal of funds under the National Fellowship for Higher Education and National Overseas Scholarship for ST students.
