Someone I respect, shared the words of someone else I respect today. Warden MacDonald has always been gracious with her time w/me. She took time to impart words of wisdom as I was deciding to run + her guidance on 'Mayoring' has not failed me yet.

Still trying to do some good with what we have, where we are. Essex-Windsor EMS supports Pelee with 24/7 emergency care. This year, we want to help care for the people that care for us when we need it most. In year 5, we are raising funds for improvements to the EMS building.

In 2024, the Township of Pelee applied for just over 300k in funding through Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund in Intake 1 + again on intake 2 to make necessary repairs to the North Pump Station. Both grant applications were denied by the province.

Discharge of Firearms By-Law – REPEALED In May 2025, Council repealed By-law 2018-36, being a by-law to prohibit or regulate the discharge of firearms within the Township of Pelee.

I was happy to attend the Pelee Island Fire Department Open House last evening. Pelee has a volunteer department led by Chief Long. Thanks to all the firefighters + their families for all they do!

Fall walks on Pelee. Pelee is home to a globally rare habitat known as an 'alvar'. There is little to no soil and often drought conditions within. This harsh environment requires adaptability + strong roots. What goes for this Poplar, goes for us all. #peleeisland

When a tree falls on an island in the middle of the night, does anyone hear it? ✅Visual checks done after storms ✅On call phone active and answered 24/7 by Admin who quarterbacks response ✅Outside staff jump in to engage PIFD or clear roads as needed

Our small Municipal staff responds to all emergency matters at all hours. Storms last night were no exception. Make sure to subscribe to outage alerts from Hydro One and always report outages to their online reporting tool.

Copies of the new Township of Pelee Official Island Map and Visitor Information guide are available at the Township Office. Any business / STR can grab a bunch + have on site to give visitor useful info + help them find their way around the island!
