Grandfather!

He bows politely. "I'm glad to see you. I learned a lot about you."

"I learned how you beat the French at any chance you had. And that you founded Friedrichstadt."

Could he maybe convince his grandfather to dethrone his father? To just... reign for twenty years longer himself?

"Not many so far. I have not reigned yet, and I'm not sure I ever will. Not if my father can prevent it. But I speak French and play the flute, I try my best to always be kind and I read a lot."

"He believes I'm too... womanly, your majesty. Not strong enough."

"He deems scented baths, poetry and music as pleasures for the women only. And I'm not sure I can ever meet his idea of what a man should be. I'm not even tall enough."

"Certainly not from his father." Frederick smiled slightly. "He has turned into an angry man since you were gone. A good ruler, I'm sure. Not as good a father I would say, but he is the king, he should rule, more importantly."

Speaking ill of his father... probably another month added to his sentence. It's a life sentence so who cares.

"If I may say so... if I were a ruler, I would try to be a good father. To the whole country." He looks down and sighs. "I have to return inside. We have a curfew in the cadet academy. It was nice meeting you, grandfather. - majesty." He crosses his fingers for grandpa to rule.

He wishes his Großvater Friedrich a very pleasant birthday and good health for many years to come. @KonigInPrussia
