At noon today, our officers were dispatched to DG Market for a suspicious item / possible explosive in the parking lot. As a precaution, the item was removed by the Lee’s Summit Bomb Squad and destroyed at 66 acre park. Nobody was harmed or in danger at any time.

MODOT will be fixing potholes on C Hwy between North St. and the fire station (yes, THOSE potholes) tomorrow and Friday. With other road construction also going in that area, traffic will not be ideal, but MODOT will have flaggers and will leave one lane open as much as possible.

Water main break - Northwestern portion of the city of Peculiar is under a ‘boil water advisory’ until July 31. If you currently have no water service, or low water pressure, you are in the affected area. If your water service is fine right now, this advisory does not affect you

Raypec school traffic in peculiar must approach and leave via 211th St., due to a gas main break at school and 203rd. Please do not approach from the north.

Gas line has been quickly capped and all is well. Traffic adjustments are no longer necessary.
