OK, here is hoping: the teacher strike will mess with many of you. You've every right to be peaved because it'll be a pain, but everything you post here is ammo for anti-strike rhetoric, so if you're pro-strike and just a bit miffed, be miffed off-line. Please. Ta.

If you're not into crypto, NFTs (smart move if not), games or YouTube's influences frequently moonlighting as scam artists in these domains, you may have missed how Logan Paul was involved in a multimillion $ scam of his fans - one that Coffeezilla blew apart. Huge kudos.👍

So, the reason your (better) 3rd party Twitter app went screwy is Twitter banned all 3rd party apps. Why? F**k knows. Because it's run by a billion-dollar baby desperate to make something on an egoistic investment..? techcrunch.com/2023/01/19/twi…

There's a Foucault-meets-Deluze confession/affect economy feedback loop btwn media & society. As we culturally accept that we have emotions (& hey - all good), the public performance of emotion gains a capital that devalues emotion in a non-fiscal sense. Commoditisation. Grt 🧵

The horse I'm riding in this is on more flat turf - i.e., vote to express your PoV and so move the needle as a membership where we collectively want it. Do vote, tho. I'd also say UCU that if you're concerned about media perception, you'd be steadier on the same lvl ground.

Theres a long response to this that details how easy it is for people's circumstances to change and highlights how this view roughly equates to "the poor shouldn't breed". The short response does it though: What an asshat.

Not *quite* a victory yet, but it's such a relief to see progress after so many years. I, for one, am thrilled to be back at work next week, but I am still hesitant to call it.

This. Same re sexism & fatphobia - difficult, but important. However, introducing those topics through an otherwise "charming" story is a challenge for the age range of these books. Active critical reading despite taste and engagement? Frankly, I don't know many adults who do it.

There is a clear distinction between persecution - even systemic persecution - and democratic discernment. If one opts to publicly attach one's views to a system of belief and then finds that those *views* are unpopular, it isn't the belief that is being rejected. It's the views.
