If learners can’t explain it, they didn’t learn it.

Kids learn best when learning is intentionally designed, not when content is simply delivered. Full stop.

The question isn't, "Will I make an impact today?" We do not get a choice in that when we walk into our classrooms. The choice lies in, "What kind of impact will I make?" We can be the reason kids want to come to school or the reason they want to stay home. That's on us.

The greatest gains can be achieved for learning not by looking at the amount of content we're providing in the classroom. Instead, look at the TASK we're designing for our learners to engage with to produce evidence of learning. Design a quality task first. Then instruct.

First things first. If my learners don't know & understand what the Learning Target of the day's lesson is, then they won't have a goal to: Focus attention towards Prioritize resources around Devote perseverance through Or a lot of other things that matter to learning.

I loved working with emergency certified teachers on inquiry learning today. We looked at sources and created a claim to answer what is the best candy of all time. Great discussion and engagement among the groups. Teachers saw the teacher moves and connections to curriculum.
