Security of Nandankanan Zoological Park has got a boost with induction of one platoon of OISF. The only zoo in India now to have a dedicated security force. With 40 lakhs visitors annually, it was a much felt need to secure the zoo with professional force.

The matriarch died of old age. The sub adult bull of the herd kept grieving and didn’t move an inch for almost a day trying to wake it up… From the forests of Northern Odisha 😢

Nature can be cruel. Sad to inform that we lost a dear elephant Mama at Kumarkhunti camp to herpes virus. This virus can cause acute hemorrhagic disease with more than 90% in young elephants. It gave us so much of joy. It’s like loosing a family member🙏

A herd of elephants with skyscrapers of the city all around… Chandaka-Dampada Sanctuary in the heart of Bhubaneswar is the lungs of the city. Home to around 50 pachyderms, it’s a unique landscape in the midst of urbanisation.
