I've covered tech, from startups to Apple, for 20-plus years. I wrote Backfire: Carly Fiorina's High-Stakes Battle for the Soul of Hewlett-Packard.

What's the real-world impact of our gov's decision to let anyone easily make an untraceable AR-15 in their basement? Here's a view from an entrepreneur working on weapons screening equipment to foil lone wolf attacks on everyday locations. evolvtechnology.com/blog/the-dange…

Apple, Amazon and Google, among others, are working on in-ear computers that just may be the next big frontier in consumer electronics. Read about it here, in my story out this morning in Fast Company.fastcompany.com/90212065/the-f…

Can't say I'm totally shocked Apple got to $1 trillion first. I started as a tech reporter during its darkest days, and stuck around for the epic ride. I think Jobs & Co knew the future was their's to lose at the time of that "Showtime" cover.(Apologies for Bloomberg's paywall).

I just wrote about Apple's plans to make products that help us hear better. Little did I know that Jony Ive himself has been interested in the topic since at least 1989. That's when he designed this "Radio Hearing Aid" as a design student back in the UK.vads.ac.uk/large.php?uid=…

Here's my latest--my reporters-eye take on how Apple went from damn near out of business to being the world's first $1 trillion company. eetimes.com/document.asp?d…

What could be more boring than hearing aids, am I right? Hopefully, I am. My article on Starkey's new Livio AI model includes real-time language translation, Apple, and a billionaire who talks to angels. wired.com/story/this-hea… via WIRED

My story on Starkey shows how CEO Bill Austin is trying to learn from Silicon Valley. When it comes to doing good while doing well, tech leaders can learn a ton from Austin, who spends much of his life giving hearing aids to people who can't afford them. wired.com/story/this-hea…

This is despicable. The Trump administration is not only ceding America’s role as a leader on the human rights of women, it’s actively working against those rights. We all have to work together to right this wrong and undo this damage. bbc.com/news/world-us-…

Can you believe the world isn’t screaming about the fact that Trump talked to Putin about Mueller but refused to talk to Mueller about Putin? Which country is 45 loyal to? What oath did 45 take?

Compare the words, tone, & spirit of any previous President with the undignified, divisive, & hate-filled invective spewed by Mr. Trump. Until so-called “Republicans” put nation above party & condemn his vile rants, this crisis will only get worse & more dangerous for all.

@bethanybongiorno and I named our company Humane because it signifies our commitment to developing ways of interacting with technology that will make us more powerful, while also rebalancing the role of technology in our lives.

Watching Trump preen in front of St. John’s, moments after he threatened to deploy the American military against the American people, with a bible held above his head, I remembered this quote, “when facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross”

Trump is holding a knee on the neck of American Democracy, and the GOP is the three cops just watching it happen while protecting him.

Gene Munster on Uber if it can't fix cultural woes: “Uber will always be around, the same way Yahoo will always be around.” Ouch. #Rutberg17

And while you're fixing Uber's culture, brand and driver relations, don't forget to invent the driverless car. technologyreview.com/s/608151/ubers…
